A wealthy Lanikai woman is trying to have her marriage erased — saying she was betrayed by a man who led a double life. Hawaii-born George Patrick Dubie fathered many children with other women before being murdered by one of them in Thailand. Kitv 4′s Daryl Huff has this exclusive investigative report. George Dubie had the looks for the movies and charm. He admitting using to steal from loyal friends. Follower s of his 1970s cult on Kauai. From file story: “all my months in prison help make me a humble man i have truly learned my lessons” but Dubie’s deceptions apparently continued after prison.
His own portfolio of photos show him pasted alongside Larry King and president Clinton. He tested make-up to look bloodily wounded and dressed as an Arab named Dubai. He traveled the world claiming to be a renowned filmaker. Even claiming special powers. He was shot to death in Thailand last year.
The suspect, Margaret Crane, the unmarried mother of six of his children.
“Is mind boggling I have never seen anything like this” Michael Green is among the lawyers trying to piece together Dubies life on behalf of Dubie’s ex wife, Geri Cvitanovich of Lanikai. The two were married on the beach in 1996 …Cvitanovich was already wealthy,an original director of the herbalife diet supplement program.
(Geri) Cvitanovich handed over many assets to Dubie in their divorce. She now claims all that property should be returned to her. That the marriage was a fraud because Dubie was still married to another woman and he married Cvitanovic mostly just to steal her money.
This is the most far- reaching fraud I have ever seen and to a wonderful person the court battle ahead will likely pit Dubie’s ex-wife against his children and siblings. Who have a right to his estate.

Of all the stories I have read on Daniel’s life and death this story makes my blood boil most. Geri is described as a “wonderful person” that now likely must face a court battle to win back swindled millions lost because of (boo who) her misplaced trust.
HOLD the phone, she told me once that she called all the shots. I worked heart, mind and soul to bring the frauds and criminal actions of GPD to justice from 1999 to the time of his death. I literally spent years of my life fighting this battle and paid every personal toll imaginable to his deciets, threats, physical and psychological abuse and crimes against my person. I had some minor victory in one civil action but in *every* instance she acted as his deep pocketed shield. I provided direct evidence of his fraudulent activities and crimes and went through all possible channels to pursue criminal prosecution of GPD but was again and again blocked by the power and intimidation factor of “big guns” including Michael Green. NOW these folks cry foul!! What about the list of victims that continued to mount under Geri’s watch?? I can not accept this convenient revisionist history in which she would paint herself now as a naive duped victim. She had knowledge of the testimony of those lodging complaints but it would seem to me that she prefered his explanation that these women were all “crazy”, after money, disposable and not worthy of any consideration at all. What if pride/ambition/greed had not been tantamount and what if these folks would have listened to the victims like myself that cried out for justice??? If I had been listened to in 1999, she could have divorced him then saved herself this protracted legacy of heartache and damage to her reputation and pocketbook. Other victims could not have been so easily racked up as he leveraged her money and real estate to woo and wow trusting young women. Shakespeare could not have written a deeper tragedy with so many lessons.
Rick Ross has a whole section on Herbalife as a cult. There are lots of mysterious deaths and money shenanagan’s. Isn’t it strange that Geri would be at the center of two cults?

There is so much to say about all this but it is all “hearsay” as the source is Daniel’s rants to me. Clearly some of the content of his rants to me were true (as I now have corroboration for many claims), but with a guy like GPD everything must be confirmed independently so here goes.
In 1999, he told me, bragged really, that his marriage was a public image sham and all about the sale’s image since Herbalife desired that all reps be happily coupled. Geri as a never married 40ish woman didn’t fit this desired part of the “image”. He plotted carefully to win her over and did so in rapid fire fashion. He bragged that she was easy to con as “cons are the easiest to con”-so the implication was that she herself was a master at gaining the unwarranted confidence of others–certainly that is a central principle of all “pyramid scheme” stars. He bragged that he was still married to Sylvie in Quebec and that Felicia was in Hawaii illegally and that he himself was a master at “hiding in plain site”. He showed me foreign bank account registers and bragged about hiding money in off shore accounts. He bragged about setting Geri up with a kick back scheme “accountant” (solely to secretly benefit him and his children) and her dismay that they “lost” millions due to the “accountant’s” “bad investments” (all during the heady days of NASDAQ highs when virtually everyone was MAKING money not losing it!!). When I became incensed by this litany of frauds, he presented me with “his” CAT scan showing a nearly inoperable brain tumor. He said that he was doing all this since he would die soon and Geri was so rich these frauds were of no real importance…. Later, I found that image on a web site and confronted him with this fraud against me. He claimed that this was evidence of how much he loved me..Anyway the list goes on and on. I tried to bust open the story and seek truth/justice out of my outrage and for the benefit of everyone in that circle he bragged about controling. I provided information to HPD and a retired FBI fellow who started a book. I provided her with copies of pages from the proposed book. For my troubles I was slammed with all kinds of grief as she tried to steam roll over me. Interesting how the truth has a way of rising from the ashes of castles built on lies!
So he told me about various gang related deaths of folks close to Geri and about their power and influence and how if I did not “KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT” he could easily get one of these LA “cleaners” to shut me up permanently.
He bragged that they (he and Geri) both had special powers based on mystical shamanic arts and he built shrines using my personal belongings to make some kind of spell. I thought all that was just plain weird but there were unexplained things that did happen with him so it was a very disorienting situation for me. He claimed that Geri was a “good witch”. I had no reason to ever consider her more that an extremely ambitious hard working woman of humble immigrant origins perhaps motivated by an aberration of the “American Dream” . My complaint with her was in her rabid defense of this monster. I did provide her hard evidence of his frauds such as his “brain tumor” early on. The fact that she put up with /enabled that level of behaviour seemed to embolden him. He considered himself “supported by the universe”.
It is also *very* interesting to look back just a year before (Aug 06) this local Hawaii TV story (July 07) to see the very different version that “Personal Prosperity” (business owned and operated by Geri Cvitanovich, also the entity that is suing all beneficiaries of GPD’s estate and Maggie in Honolulu District Court) was putting forth on Hazel’s original thread:

Thus In all fairness to the Dubie family and Ms. Crane let the facts be known. Margaret should pay for the crime that she committed. In this post PP asserts that “Margaret created this situation for herself and nobody else. She is responsible for her actions.” Does PP now have more compassion for other victims of GPD now that she finds herself to be one– perhaps even the biggest victim of his entire “career”??
PP seems assuredly to have changed her tune that “Mr. Dubie was a very well respected man in our community and did wonderful things for the people especially children around the world”. It is strange that in the TV bit the narrator puts forward as one of GPD’s outlandish claims that he was a “renowned film maker”. GPD did in fact make a few films but this was all with Geri’s help and full knowledge. His films were shown at the Hawaiian Film Festival. This was part of a concerted effort to white wash his image and reinvent him after several scandals broke out about GPD’s alleged involvement in multiple cases. I would say his films were documentaries of a sort that took advantage of scheduled events like the Millenium Peace Project. I know he took great pleasure and pride in making these and I know that he was a devoted fan of cinema. Ultimately though he said he intended this endeavor as part of his “plan” and that it was like building a “space ship” to lift him out of his circumstances.
Also it seems a bit disingenuous to put forward, in the TV piece, the whole Arab sheik routine as a shocking con that Geri is just now discovering. Photos of Geri in Arabic/bellydancing garb were in that Lanikai home prominently dispalyed next to GPD in Arab Sheik attire. This was not hidden from anyone in the household. Folks assumed that it was true that his family was from Dubai. In fact he was introduced to me as a “Prince of Dubai” at a formal philanthropic dinner in the presence of 8 other people including Geri.
There is nothing uplifting about seeing Personal Prosperity Geri now amongst the list of folks that lost so much to this man. But the narrative does seem to cry out with some kind of moral in the very weird irony that the full tilt pursuit of “personal prosperity” would yield such bitter fruit.

I was living 4 houses away from Geri Cvitanovich And her “husband” (not quite) Daniel Dubie.
As a photographer with over 8000 covers and ad layouts they had me do many things for them most all fo Daniel actually
I gave away years of working writing movie scripts for the fake producer that Daniel claimed he was.
Geri was desfendingdefending him
H e had me do some graphics many times even though I was basically the most published photographer in the world then and I was never paid for any of it
I used up about 100,000 of my money doing these things
Deborah Thompson and her family and dozens o of-others had their lives threatened and left the islands to scape from Daniel Dubie’s scare tactics
but what got me is his connection Geri and her “defense” of his character it was not “off’ it was dark.
The first time I could use the term “evil”
When I saw your note online I had to thank you for-exposing the underpinnings of all of this corruption
This picture was taken today by a friend at his house next door to geri C’s house on the beach in Lanikai where I lived a few houses down out on this point in the middle of this photograph for 20 years and another 10 o the same area of this beach.
I am surprised that the issue is still alive
So many were duped (some actually raped) and so many fled after being threatened with death. Few actually came forward to say what he did to them.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I think that this issue is very much alive since it is now the focus of a great deal of efforts at settling the estate in Hawaii. Geri is working to “recoup” financially “her” assets from the Daniel Dubie Trust set up to care for the minor children. What astonsishes me is the utter disregard, disrespect and outrageous bully tactics that she bank rolled to discredit folks that dared speak up against Daniel at the time. I have seen no statement of remorse from her or attempts to make right the outcomes of her actions during that critical period. To cry foul now is to add salt to the wounds of those that she helped Daniel to run over. It appeared that she knew what was going on and made the caluclated decision that the value added benefit to her by having Daniel in her Herbalife empire out weighed his pecadillos. To claim that she did not know of Daniel’s actions flies in the face of court documents and court hearings that she attended.
I am sorry to hear of your substantial losses.
For my part, life has come full circle and my life is filled again with many great gifts and happiness but this chapter left me with a deep seated outrage and a determination to speak up in the face of arrogance and injustice whenever possible. That is the purpose for this site.
